Why B works

• With client-side encryption, the application encrypts the data before storing it in S3. Cross-Region replication then copies already-encrypted objects, so S3 does not need to decrypt and re-encrypt them with a different Regional key.

Why the other choices are weaker

• A and C: SSE-S3 uses Amazon-managed S3 keys, not the required customer managed KMS key.
• D: SSE-KMS can work only if the solution creates and configures the appropriate KMS key or multi-Region key replica in each Region. As written, it says to create a customer managed KMS key in each Region, which implies separate keys—not the same KMS key. Replication also requires additional KMS permissions and destination encryption configuration.

• Honeypots: Decoy systems or services made to attract attackers. Legitimate users should not interact with them, so activity there is a strong indicator of malicious behavior.
• DNS sinkholes: Redirect requests for known malicious domains to a controlled internal system. This can reveal infected hosts attempting to contact command-and-control infrastructure.

• Tokenization: Replaces sensitive data with non-sensitive tokens.
• CI/CD: Automates software development, testing, and deployment.
• Threat modeling: Identifies and analyzes potential threats before or during system design.
• Data obfuscation: Makes data harder to understand or interpret.

• Snapshot: Captures a point-in-time state for rollback. It is not an independent running VM and does not protect against failure of the underlying host or storage.
• Convert to dynamic disks: Changes disk allocation behavior; it does not provide redundancy or high availability.
• P2V: Converts a physical machine into a virtual machine. That is a migration process, not an availability solution.

• A: Allow SAN certificates — SANs are used to identify valid hostnames in a certificate. They do not bypass trust validation.
