Overview of the Upgrading to Novell Open Enterprise Server for NetWare Exam
Novell 050-701 validates the technical competency of Systems Administrators and Network Engineers tasked with migrating legacy NetWare environments to Open Enterprise Server. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in executing side-by-side or in-place migrations from NetWare 6.5 to OES, managing eDirectory schema extensions, and configuring Novell Cluster Services for high availability. The curriculum emphasizes the integration of the Novell Storage Services file system, Domain Services for Windows, and Apache-based web services. Mastery involves troubleshooting dynamic link library conflicts, implementing platform-specific storage migration tools, and reconciling authentication protocols within a heterogeneous network architecture to ensure seamless service continuity during transition phases.
