Overview of the HCIP-Datacom-Advanced Routing & Switching Technology Exam
Targeting senior network engineers and architects, the H12-831 examination evaluates advanced proficiency in large-scale enterprise network deployments. Candidates must demonstrate deep technical mastery of OSPFv3 and BGP route control, redistribution, and aggregation techniques. The curriculum mandates comprehensive configuration skills for MPLS L3 VPN architectures, inter-AS VPN connectivity, and traffic engineering. Furthermore, the assessment requires implementing advanced Ethernet technologies including VXLAN, EVPN, and STP extensions. Knowledge of network reliability protocols such as BFD, VRRP, and GR is essential for maintaining carrier-grade service continuity. Proficiency in network management and security frameworks completes the technical requirement, ensuring candidates can engineer complex, scalable routing and switching environments.
