Your company uses both Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales. To enhance the customer information within Dynamics 365, the administrators added the Customer Insights timeline as a Customer Card Add-in control on the contact form.

You need to update the company's Dynamics 365 user guide and explain how users can use the timeline.

Which actions can users perform from the Customer Insights timeline on a Dynamics 365 form?

  1. Filter the timeline by activity type.
  2. Expand the activity for more details.
  3. Sort the activity order.
  4. Delete the activity.
  5. Open and edit the activity.

Answer(s): A,B,C

Explanation:

The Customer Insights timeline capability helps consolidate customers’ activities from various data sources, to create a timeline view of all customer interactions. Business analysts can preselect the type of interactions to be displayed on the timeline view, which will be displayed in the customer profile dashboard and can be embedded in Dynamics 365.

Note: Get a 360-degree view of your customers directly in Dynamics 365 apps. With the Customer Card Add-in installed in a supported Dynamics 365 app, you can choose to display customer profile fields, insights, and activity timeline. The add-in will retrieve data from Customer Insights without affecting the data in the connected Dynamics 365 app.

Your team completed the unification process to create unified customer profiles. The team needs to have activity data, such as transactions, show up on the customer cards.
You need to provide the team with guidance on creating and managing activities.
Which two capabilities should you recommend? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.
NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.

  1. You can create a timeline that lists the activities chronologically by creating customer activities from various data sources.
  2. An entity only needs to have an attribute of type Date to be included in a customer timeline in some cases.
  3. You have the option to edit, delete, or rename that activity after you create it.
  4. Event activity is an optional field when creating a new activity.

Answer(s): A,B

Explanation:

A: Customer activities are actions or events performed by customers or business contacts. For example, transactions, support call duration, website reviews, purchases, or returns. These activities are contained in one or more data sources. With Customers Insights, consolidate your customer activities from these data sources and associate them with customer profiles. These activities appear chronologically in a timeline on the customer profile. Include the timeline in Dynamics 365 apps with the Customer Card add-in solution.

B: An entity must have at least one attribute of type Date to be included in a customer timeline.

You need to export all the data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer insights to Microsoft Azure Blob Storage. This includes metadata and schemas.

What should you do?

  1. Query the REST API with custom code.
  2. Attach a Microsoft Dataverse environment.
  3. Configure a data-out export.
  4. Configure a segment export.

Answer(s): C

Explanation:

There are two main types of exports:

Data-out exports let you export any type of entity available in Customer Insights. The entities that you select for export are exported with all data fields, metadata, schemas, and mapping details.

Segment exports let you export segment entities from Customer Insights. For individual consumers (B-to-C), segments represent a list of customer profiles. For businesses (B-to-B), segments can represent a list of accounts or contacts. When configuring the export, you select the included data fields, depending on the target system you are exporting data to.

Note: Configure an export
To configure this export, you must have permission for this connection type.

Important
If you turned on the soft delete setting for the Azure Blob Storage account, exports will fail. Turn off soft delete to export data to blobs.

1. Go to Data > Exports.

2. Select Add export.

3. In the Connection for export field, choose a connection from the Azure Blob Storage section. Contact an administrator if no connection is available.

4. Enter a name for the export.

5. Enter the folder name for the Blob storage.

6. Select the box next to each of the entities you want to export to this destination.

7. Select Save.

Saving an export doesn't run the export immediately. The export runs with every scheduled refresh. You can also export data on demand.

Exported data is stored in the Blob Storage container you configured.

In my opinion, they work well for me, but it depends on how you approach them. My method isn't about memorizing the exact questions and answers from the practice tests to use on the real exam. Instead, I focus on understanding why I got certain questions wrong so I can deepen my comprehension of the material.
