Overview of the VMware vSAN Specialist v2 Exam
VMware vSAN Specialist v2 certification mandates technical proficiency for Cloud Architects and Storage Administrators tasked with deploying, managing, and optimizing hyperconverged infrastructure using vSAN 8.0. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in configuring vSAN stretched clusters, two-node topologies, and Fault Domains while implementing vSAN Express Storage Architecture (ESA) to optimize performance and data efficiency. The curriculum encompasses advanced troubleshooting of policy-based management, disk group maintenance, encryption, and data-at-rest security. Proficiency requires mastery of vSphere Lifecycle Manager for cluster maintenance, vSAN network configuration including distributed switches and MTU settings, and capacity planning protocols to ensure high availability and resilient software-defined storage environments.
