IIBA CCBA Exam Prep
Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (Page 29 )

• To mitigate resistance, the BA should directly engage the stakeholders who are pushing back (the technical team) to uncover their concerns, constraints, and reasons for resisting the end-of-project handover.
• This enables collaborative problem-solving and may lead to adjustments (e.g., intermediate deliverables, phased rollouts, or alignment of acceptance criteria) that satisfy both business and technical needs.
• Escalating to the sponsor or emailing the business team may not address the root causes of resistance. Reassessing objectives could be useful later, but the immediate best practice is to have a targeted discussion with the technical team to understand and resolve concerns.

• Job shadowing is an elicitation technique that is part of the broader job observation approach. The observer watches workers perform tasks (either passively or actively) to understand the workflow, especially when the worker cannot articulate the process themselves.
• The other options are not elicitation techniques tied to job observation: A) Identifying stakeholders is an initial BA activity; C) Defining and determining business analysis processes is part of planning; D) Planning how requirements will be approached, traced, and prioritized is elicitation planning (a precursor to elicitation), not the observation-based elicitation.

• There are two solutions: A is worth $456,000 to the organization, B is worth $565,000.
• Management chooses A due to lower cost, less risk, and faster completion.
• The opportunity cost is the value of the best alternative that was not chosen. Since B has the higher value ($565,000) and wasn’t chosen, the foregone value is $565,000.
• Note: The \(|565k - 456k| = 109k\) is the difference in value, not the opportunity cost.

• Third-party attestation: Provides independent validation, but is typically periodic and performed by an external party.
• Penetration testing: Simulates attacks to identify exploitable vulnerabilities; it does not primarily track compliance.
• Vulnerability scans: Identify technical weaknesses, but do not provide a detailed review of procedures or compliance activities.

• Structure requirements documents
• Draft user stories and acceptance criteria
• Create templates for functional and nonfunctional requirements
• Turn natural-language descriptions into organized documentation or implementation examples

• A: “Automatically generating detailed requirements documents” overstates Copilot’s role; it assists but does not independently determine complete requirements.
• C: /help provides guidance about Copilot features, not reliable requirements-conflict detection.
• D: Stakeholder communication and meetings remain human responsibilities.

Statement 1 — Correct

Statement 2 — Correct

• Atomicity: a write fully succeeds or does not appear.
• Consistency: table state remains valid.
• Isolation: concurrent operations do not corrupt one another.
• Durability: committed changes persist.

• Flexible schemas: common data lakes often support flexible or schema-on-read data.
• Open-source formats: common data lakes commonly use open formats such as Parquet.
• Scalable storage: cloud data lakes already provide scalable storage.

• Unsafe images: Requires image/content moderation before the image is processed.
• Hidden instructions embedded in images: These are indirect prompt injections contained in untrusted image content or extracted text, not necessarily in the user’s typed prompt.

• Code signing: Verifies the software’s authenticity and integrity; it does not hide the source code or prevent reverse engineering.
• Tokenization: Replaces sensitive data with tokens, mainly for protecting data such as payment information—not software logic.
• Blockchain: Provides a tamper-resistant record of transactions or data; it does not protect compiled code from analysis.

• Data only needs to be current at 7 AM each day, so scheduled refresh is sufficient.
• Import mode provides the fastest report interaction because data is stored in Power BI’s in-memory engine.
• It supports row-level security (RLS), including the USERNAME() filter.
• You can limit the imported data to the current year and previous three years to reduce model size.
• DirectQuery would generally provide slower visual response times and is unnecessary here.
• Dual is mainly useful in composite models where some tables use DirectQuery and others use Import. That is not required by this scenario.
• Live connection is not appropriate because you are creating the semantic model.

• Matching hashes: The software likely has not changed.
• Different hashes: The software was modified or corrupted.

• Encryption: Protects confidentiality by making data unreadable; it does not primarily detect changes.
• Baselines: Define an approved system or configuration state, but they are not the specific integrity mechanism here.
• Tokenization: Replaces sensitive data with substitute values.

• A static IP gives the surveillance system a predictable local address, so users can reliably reach it on the LAN.
• However, a static IP does not block internet-based login attempts. If the router exposes the device through port forwarding, attackers could still reach it.
• Port mapping normally exposes an internal service externally, so A is a poor choice as written.
• Subnetting alone also does not block traffic; it would require routing/firewall rules.

• Packet capture: Collects and analyzes network traffic; it does not describe the scan type.
• Privilege escalation: Attempts to gain higher permissions after obtaining access.
• System enumeration: Identifies systems, services, or resources, but is not specifically defined by the lack of credentials.
• Passive scan: Observes traffic without actively probing systems. A vulnerability scan is generally an active assessment.

• Crowd-sourced evaluation: Requires recruiting and managing many evaluators.
• Human-worker evaluation: Provides human judgment but requires coordination, labeling instructions, and quality control.
• RLHF: Is a training and alignment process, not simply a low-overhead model comparison method.
• Automatic model evaluation: Quickly evaluates outputs using predefined toxicity or quality metrics with minimal manual effort.

• A hypervisor allows multiple virtual machines to run on one physical server.
• Each VM can have its own operating system, so the customer can consolidate Windows, Linux, and Unix servers.
• A Type 2 hypervisor runs on a host operating system and can be deployed on local hardware, helping address data privacy and avoiding ongoing public-cloud charges.

• Containers share the host operating system’s kernel.
• They are well suited to consolidating applications, but they generally cannot independently run a mix of unrelated kernels such as Windows, Linux, and Unix on one host.

• SQL injection
• Cross-site scripting (XSS)
• Malicious or malformed web requests
• Some application-layer attacks

• Layer 4 firewall: Filters based mainly on IP addresses, ports, and transport protocols; it cannot deeply inspect web application content.
• NGFW: Provides advanced network filtering and may include application awareness, but a WAF is more specifically designed to protect web applications.
• UTM: Combines several security functions in one appliance, but it is not the most targeted solution for a web portal.

• File is shared externally ? Access level

• File is labeled “Internal only” ? Sensitivity label

• Behavioral and anomaly detection
• Threat intelligence integration
• User and entity behavior analytics
• Automated response actions, often through SOAR integration

• Virus signatures: Associated primarily with antivirus or endpoint protection.
• Security agent deployment: Usually an endpoint-management or EDR function.
• Vulnerability scanning: Typically performed by vulnerability-management tools, though a SIEM may integrate their results.

• User1 (user1@contoso.com) — This is an external guest in the Fabrikam tenant. Assuming the guest uses email one-time passcode authentication, Azure AD emails a passcode to user1@contoso.com.
• User2 (user2@outlook.com) — An Outlook.com address can authenticate with a Microsoft account, so Azure AD uses that account’s authentication rather than sending an email OTP. The fact that User2 has never accessed Fabrikam resources does not by itself trigger OTP.
• User3 (user3@fabrikam.com) — This is an internal Fabrikam user, so the user signs in with the organization’s normal credentials and does not receive a guest OTP.

• Group1 — security-enabled: Eligible.
• Group2 — mail-enabled and security-enabled: Eligible because it is still a security group.
• Group3 — Microsoft 365 group: Not eligible for group-based licensing.
• Group4 — Microsoft 365 group, not security-enabled: Not eligible.

• Agent application: OTEL_SERVICE_NAME=foundry-agent
• LangChain application: OTEL_SERVICE_NAME=langchain-service

• A. IDS attack signatures: Detects suspicious network activity, but is not primarily designed to scan uploaded files for malware.
• C. Load balancer: Distributes traffic among servers and improves availability; it does not inspect files for threats.
• D. WAF: Protects web applications from attacks such as SQL injection and command injection, but its primary role is not malware scanning of uploaded documents.

• Least privilege: Limits users to only the access necessary for their job.
• Background checks: Help identify potentially risky individuals before employment.
• Separation of duties: Ensures that one person cannot complete a sensitive process alone, reducing fraud and abuse.

• Keep earlier prompt versions.
• Identify the last version that produced acceptable output.
• Restore it as a baseline.
• Make small, controlled changes—ideally one significant change at a time.
• Test the output after each change.

• A: Discards useful information about what worked.
• B: Large simultaneous changes make it difficult to identify the cause of problems.
• D: Accepts output that does not meet the requirements.

• Due diligence: Investigating and evaluating a third party before entering into or continuing a business relationship.
• Attestation: An independent party provides assurance about an organization’s claims or controls. A SOC 2 examination is an example of an attestation engagement, but the analyst requesting and reviewing the report is performing due diligence.
• Internal audit: Reviews the organization’s own internal controls.
• Penetration testing: Actively tests systems for exploitable vulnerabilities.

• terraform init is normally required first, especially for a new or changed working directory. It installs providers/modules and configures the backend.
• terraform plan previews the proposed changes.
• terraform apply applies those changes. It also creates a plan internally if you have not supplied a saved plan.

• VPC: A logically isolated virtual network within a cloud provider; it describes network design, not the user-access model.
• NFV: Runs network services as software instead of on dedicated hardware.
• SaaS: Delivers software over the internet. Although the application may be delivered as SaaS, the question emphasizes its availability to multiple user groups, which points to multitenancy.

• Annual interest payments net of tax relief (A): future cash outflows for the issuer.
• Redemption value (B): the final cash outflow when the bond is redeemed.
• Market value now (C): the cash proceeds received now, acting as the initial cash flow in the IRR calculation.

• Accept: Acknowledge the risk and take no additional action.
• Transfer: Shift the risk or financial impact to another party, such as through insurance or a contract.
• Mitigate: Reduce the likelihood or impact using controls, such as firewalls, training, or backups.
• Avoid: Eliminate the activity that creates the risk.

• Load balancer: Distributes application traffic; it does not protect switch MAC tables.
• IPS: May detect some attack traffic, but it is not the primary control for switch-port MAC learning.
• NGFW: Protects at network boundaries but does not directly limit MAC addresses learned on access ports.

• Feedback form: Captures opinions, not necessarily actual behavior; users may not respond.
• Questionnaire: Relies on memory and subjective judgments about usefulness.
• Interviews: Can provide valuable qualitative insights, but a sample of users may not represent overall usage accurately.

1. CALCULATE
2. AND
3. FILTER

DAX
Transaction Category =
CALCULATE(
    MAX('Transaction Size'[Size]),
    FILTER(
        'Transaction Size',
        AND(
            Sales[Sales Amount] >= 'Transaction Size'[Minimum],
            Sales[Sales Amount] <= 'Transaction Size'[Maximum]
        )
    )
)

• FILTER examines the rows in the Transaction Size table.
• AND ensures the sales amount falls between the category’s minimum and maximum values.
• CALCULATE evaluates the result in the modified filter context and returns the matching category.
